It's been a while...

...hasn't it?! Possibly I am the worst blogger in the world. Anyway. Contrary to popular opinion, I do actually knit sometimes.

But mostly Monkeys! This is a pair for a gift, knitted in Buddleia. As well as knitting those I've been knitting mostly small things ready for my baby's arrival in April.

This is a stripy version of Felix's Cardigan (ravelry link). I have no idea what gender the baby is yet as it chose to hide during the last scan. So it looks like it's going to be clad in ALL THE COLOURS!!!! for its first few days at least!

This second tiny cardigan ('Linnie', on Ravelry) is Not Yet Finished. Because it's done in sock yarn (Regia Kaffe Fassett stuff) and I lost the will to live at sleeve number two. I thought small things were easier?? How do people manage to knit all this stuff during their pregnancy?! I can't even finish the smallest cardigan in the world! I feel the need for a lie down coming on just thinking about all that...:-)

Round and around

This month's update is a very stripy one! It will be up on the website around 13th April. I've dyed up a few striped yarns in two- and three-colour varieties, including the purple and green one above. Although you can't have that one, it's mine ;-) The temptation was just too great!
I'm having a go at knitting an afterthought or peasant (charming!) heel with this one, hence the row of odd-coloured yarn, which, I promise you, won't be present in your skein of stripes:
I am not usually a knitting control freak (habitually knitting socks of odd length, with uneven tension, lumpy weaving-in and all the staying-up power of Nora Batty's stockings) , but I thought I'd try keeping the continuity of the stripes this time instead of having them thin out around the ankle. Oh, and I like knitting round and round and round and round on that teeny tiny circular without having to stop and replace the needles! Hmm now I see my knitting close up like this it really is astonishingly bad tension-wise. All over the place in fact. I'm trying hard not to care about it...but when I see my friend Rhian's knitting, which is the neatest knitting in the world...I think maybe I should stick to the Monkeys in future, where I can hide the mess in a tangle of yarn-overs and purl stitches!

Brass monkeys

Unusually for me, I'm making swift progress on this pair of Monkeys. I think someone has stolen my identity and replaced me with a Superknitter. Ack, no, wait, I feel a nap coming on. Maybe I'll finish these some other day...

Sock yarn is Yaffle Sock in Easter Eggs, have a look in the shop!!

Yarn on its way...

A sneak preview! It's all taking a bit longer than usual as I've been wading through treacle with a wonky thyroid this past couple of months, so please bear with me! Lots of new colours and some more Fledgling due at the end of the month. See you soon :)

Cabled dog blanket?

Well, I was going to post something about all the knitting I've been doing while I've been on a bloggy holiday, but a little something got in the way. This just proves that what I suspected is true: I only ever knit or crochet for the dog!
